One dead after two cars collide in Christchurch

A person has been killed in a two-car collision in Christchurch this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Queen Elizabeth Drive, in Marshland, just after 1.30pm.
Police initially said one of the people involved was trapped and critically injured.
They later confirmed one of the drivers of
the vehicles has died at the scene.
"There are diversions in place on QEII and Marshland Rd, and QEII and Burwood,'' police said.
