1 person dead after serious crash on State Highway 1 in Dacre, Southland

One person has died following a serious crash in Southland this morning.

Police were called to the two-vehicle crash on State Highway 1 near Kerr Rd, Dacre, around 9am.

“Sadly, one person was located deceased at the scene,” police said.

The road remains closed while the Serious Crash Unit conducts a scene examination.

Police have advised motorists to avoid the area and to expect delays.
