One dead after garage fire in Masterton

Save A person has died in a garage fire at a house in Masterton late last night.
The garage, on Cameron Crescent in the Wairarapa town, was being used as a sleep-out, fire service shift manager David Meikle said.
Fire-fighters were called to the blaze shortly before 11pm and found the
building well alight.
They pulled a person from inside the garage, but were unable to resuscitate them.
No details about the gender or age of the person who died were available, Mr Meikle said.
