One person is dead after an e-scooter accident in the Canterbury town of Twizel.

Police said the single-vehicle crash took place at about 8.30pm on February 28.

It is understood the person on the scooter hit rocks before coming off.

“Sadly, the person passed away on March 10 from their injuries in hospital,” police said.

“The death has been referred to the coroner.”
