An attack in Hamilton has left one person with critical injuries.
Police have cordoned off part of Ranui St in the suburb of Frankton "until further notice" and investigations are continuing.
"We are also asking people who live inside the cordon to remain in their houses if possible," police said
in a statement.
The assault happened about 11.40pm yesterday.
