Offal spill: Fire and Emergency New Zealand responds to multiple spills in Henderson

Piles of offal have spilled from a truck multiple times on a major Henderson street during rush hour.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand says it is currently in attendance of the truck spill on Henderson Valley Rd, and one support vehicle remains at the scene.

The spokesperson said Fire and Emergency NZ attended a spill at 5.58pm and then shortly after attended a second spill from the same vehicle 2km away at 6.12pm.

The spokesperson said a small amount spilled during the first incident, but they could not describe the quantity spilled in the second instance.

Police said they were notified of a spill on Henderson Valley Rd about 6pm, and another on Lincoln Rd about 6.20pm.

“There is some disruption to traffic near the Lincoln Rd intersection with Great North Rd, Henderson, as the road is cleared,” police said.

Police said traffic management is in place and no injuries have been reported.
