Occupy Auckland has been issued a trespass notice from Auckland Council.
The notice, from council CEO Douglas McKay, requires the members of the protest group to leave and stay away from Aotea Square.
Occupy Auckland Spokesman Chris Glen says this provocative action is in direct contradiction with the understood positionof Mayor Len Brown.
He says at their latest liaison meeting with the Mayor, Mr Brown stated no immediate action would be taken against the group while discussions were ongoing.
Occupy Auckland has been at Aotea Square since mid-October.
