A video of two young men plunging into the waters under the Auckland Harbour Bridge has sparked serious safety warnings.
The video posted to Instagram did not show how the pair managed to scale the bridge before the jump, which is thought to have happened over the weekend.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) labelled the jump as “illegal and dangerous”.
The stunt stunned social media users, with many confused about how they got up to where they jumped from in the first place.
A NZTA spokesperson said it was aware of the incident.
“Such activity is illegal and dangerous – pedestrian access to the bridge is strictly prohibited as it is part of the motorway network and is a hazardous area, and the potential for serious injury from such illegal access is high," the spokesperson said.
