NZ traveller rejects $9k intruder comp

A New Zealand traveller has rejected an offer of A$7500 ($9227) compensation after an intruder twice entered the locked hotel room where she was sleeping, using a staff card key.

Kaye van der Straten, of Paihia, said the offer by the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle, did not reflect her emotional distress or meet her demands for security improvements at the hotel.
