A busker usually found on Auckland's Queen St has had her song made into the official anthem of the New Zealand Olympic team for the London game.
Sam RB was today announced the winner of a nationwide competition which called for musicians to write a song that would inspire theOlympicians.
About 25,000 people voted on more than 300 entries.
The winning song, Stand Tall, reflected the struggles and determination required to overcome challenges as well as Sam's own pride in New Zealand, the New Zealand Olympic Committee said.
Sam said she was humbled by all the votes for her song.
"I also hope Stand Tall moves all New Zealanders to be proud of our athletes and for the athletes themselves to feel supported by Kiwis around the world," she said.
She will travel to London for the first time to perform the song at an official NZOC function before the opening of the games.
Split Enz band member Mike Chunn said Stand Tall and her other songs showed Sam to be a major talent.
