New Zealand has the opportunity to lead the way in reversing the global obesity epidemic, according to an international expert.
Professor Mike Lean, head of the University of Glasgow's department of human nutrition and a world authority on obesity prevention, said the Government was in touch with issues affecting ordinarypeople and recognised obesity as an important issue.
In order to turn the tide of obesity, Professor Lean said, a different diet must be supplied, and New Zealand was well placed to do that.
