Not too hot to trot for Harriers

TOP HONOURS: Race winner Michael Macklin.

The first of four races in the Masterton Harriers' trophy series was run on Sunday from the ACM clubrooms at the Colin Pugh Sports Bowl.

This series gives club members the chance to compete for some of the old-established club trophies. Several club members were away at the Manawatu half marathon but 44 competitors enjoyed the fine and mild conditions.

Results were:

Open men (8km): Michael Macklin 30.56, Ben van Gerven 35.53, Brendon Murray 35.59.

Senior men (8km): Dominic Green 31.25, Barrie Joslin 31.58, Roger Jones 36.25.

Masters men (8km): Graeme Butcher 35.22, Chris Lewis 37.18, Lloyd Millar 38.10.

Open women (8km): Kate Macklin 55.58.

Senior women (8km): Rachel Gawith 42.58, Robyn Green 43.24, Claudia Baechle 45.57.

Masters women (8km): Denise Baker 40.07, Franky Spite 45.07.

Walkers (4km): Rachel Reid 35.45, Graeme Roberts 35.55.

Boys U14 (4km): Matthew Heard 18.06, Tama Bartlett 24.52.

Boys U16 (4km): Gareth Gwyther 15.58, Rhys Gwyther 16.04.

Girls U14 (4km): Bianca Green 22.10

Girls U16 (4km): Rhiannon Gwyther 26.31

Women U18 (4km): Claudia Green 18.16, Shayla Farley 20.44.

Mixed U11 (2km): Jacob Day 9.43, Travis Bartlett 10.05, Mia Bartlett 10.37.
