Snow should not be an issue this week and people can expect warmer weather as the icy flow that has been hanging over Wairarapa dies out and a northern flow replaces it.
MetService meteorologist Stephen Glassey said last week had been so cold because the flow had been coming up from Antarctica, but this week temperatures should be significantly warmer.
"The air is a lot warmer than last week so we're not expecting snow to affect any roads like last week.
"People can expect temperatures getting up to the mid teens as apposed to being in the single digits."
After a frosty overnight low of -4C, today's morning cloud will clear with weather becoming fine - a high of 11 degrees is expected with northeasterlies developing in the afternoon.
Tomorrow will be fine at first, with frosts in sheltered places. High cloud will increase later on in the day and a maximum of 13C and northeasterlies are expected.
Mr Glassey said another front was forecast to come through on Wednesday, with scattered rain developing in the morning and northerlies, strengthening about the coast, and a high of 14.
On Thursday, rain is expected to clear, with a high of 15. Friday is looking mainly fine with a cooler high of 10.
