Northcote Point ferry services are back on schedule after repairs this morning to a damaged wharf pontoon.
The damage to the pontoon's lifting mechanism meant replacement buses had to be called in to take morning commuter to downtown Auckland.
But Auckland Transport has just advised that the pontoon has beenrepaired, in time for an 11.40am sailing from the downtown ferry terminal.
A spokesman said similar damage was caused last year in a storm, and he suspected the pontoon had been bashed accidentally by a ferry or some other vessel trying to use it.
