The cream of Wairarapa-Bush's senior reserve rugby talent will be on show at the Pioneer Rugby Club's Jeans Street grounds on Saturday.
It will be the annual North v South match with the North squad consisting of players from the Gladstone, Greytown, Martinborough and Tuhirangi clubs and South fromthe Pioneer, Marist, Masterton Red Star, Eketahuna and East Coast clubs.
Pioneer club spokesman Mike Harmon predicts a battle royal with both teams containing players who could go on to make their mark at a higher level.
"It's not a fun game, bragging rights are at stake and that's enough to make sure the commitment is right up there," Harmon said.
The North v South match is set to kick off at 2.30pm and will be preceded by a curtain-raiser between the Harmon Invitation XV and the Campo Invitation XV.
The sole criteria for participation is you have to be aged over 35. "We're picking that some will run out of gas early on so the more replacements we have the better," he said.
