Norovirus still spreading

At least 24 more staff and patients became ill with suspected norovirus infections at Dunedin Hospital yesterday.

The norovirus has severely affected the hospital's ability to carry out day to day duties, with about 150 infections reported this month.

Meanwhile, the West Coast District Health Board said the virus had also broken out in a Greymouth rest home.

DHB spokesman Bryan Jamieson said that about half of the 24 residents of the rest home had been infected.
