Noise makers given an amnesty for the night

Auckland authorities are giving residents a chance to have a good time this New Years eve.

The Auckland City Council is once again giving a 1 o'clock in the morning noise amnesty.

Environmental Health and Licensing Manager, Chris Dee, said this gives Aucklanders a chance to have a good time without fear of noise control officers knocking on their door.

He is encouraging those planning on seeing the New year in to have a good time and be considerate of others.

Mr Dee said the council received fewer than five calls throughout Auckland last New Years.
