No manslaughter charges in robbery case

Three youths charged with the aggravated robbery of an Auckland businessman who died minutes after the attack will appear today in Manukau Youth Court on aggravated robbery charges, but will not be charged with manslaughter.

South Auckland businessman Jy-Ming (Peter) Wei, aged 46, died of a heart attack 30 minutes after being robbed on July 24 at his workplace.

The decision not to charge the youths with manslaughter was made after talks between police, the pathologist and the Crown Solicitor.
