No fraud has been found following an investigation at Waikato District Council over a procurement process.
However a report by KPMG into the matter, presented to the council yesterday, identified a need for process improvements.
The council's chief executive Gavin Ion, said the external investigation into a particular procurement and
contract management process has not detected any fraud.
But as part of finalising the report, additional information had been sought by KPMG.
"This process is expected to be concluded within the next two weeks. We expect the final report on or around September 15, 2017."
