Typical Christchurch weather was not enough to turn away these hearty students.
Around 50 University of Canterbury students ran a mile in their underwear this afternoon, all for the good of charity.
Organised by the Opshoppping Society (OpSoc), the event is run by students annually.
Runners were told to wear their old and unwanted clothing to the race, then had to strip off the items before starting their run.
Metservice recorded temperatures of about 11C.
The 200 discarded pieces were donated to the Christchurch City Mission.
There were prizes for the fastest lass and lad, the lass and lad who brought the most clothing to be donated, as well as other spot prizes.
One runner said: "Did it for a good cause, help people with clothing."
While another proclaimed it was "All in a day's work for charity."
