School art
The Auckland intermediate schools annual art exhibition opens today in the Aotea Centre. The free exhibition is from 9 am to 6 pm daily until next Wednesday.
Roadworks
The Greenlane on-ramp northbound on the Southern Motorway will be closed from 9 tonight to 5 am tomorrow
for installation of fibre optic cables. Detours will be signposted.
Guitar night

Rosebank crocodile
The Enormous Crocodile swims into the limelight at Avondale College Performing Arts Centre today and tomorrow at 7 pm. The Rosebank School production features costumes made from recyclable materials and is supported by local businesses. Phone 828-6319 to book.

Another day ...
An earthquake killed 67 people and injured more than 3000 in the San Francisco Bay area this day in 1989. More lives would have been lost had not 60,000 baseball fans been packed into Candlestick Park, which is designed to be earthquake-proof. The game was postponed until the Earth stopped moving.
