Prime Minister Helen Clark was due back in the country yesterday following an overseas holiday.
It is understood she spent time skiing in the United States and also visited Mexico.
The first cabinet meeting of the year is scheduled for Tuesday next week.
National leader Bill English returns to Wellington this week, having spent most of his holiday with his family on their Southland farm.
