Mikey Havoc is on the slide - ratings for Havoc Presents Quality Time halved in the past five weeks among TV3's target 15- to 39-year demographic.
The future of the show will be decided in September. Network spokesman Roger Beaumont said no decision would be made until new programming director Beverley McGarvey arrived from Ireland.
After mixed reviews following its March 16 debut, ratings for Quality Time steadily declined from 10 to 5 per cent for the final weeks of the show's run. Those five weeks corresponded with strong competition from TV2 which put up a series of one-off specials: the Rebecca Loos interview; Super Surgery; Pamela Close Up, a Pamela Anderson special; the Oddfellows Comedy Gala; and this week's E! True Hollywood Story on Donald Trump. Quality Time finished its run on Tuesday.
Havoc, 33, declined to comment on the show's ratings, but said he hoped another series would be approved. Mr Beaumont said it was too early to predict whether the show would be renewed.
The 11-week series received funding of $401,593 from NZ On Air.
Eating Media Lunch begins on TV2 in the Tuesday, 9.30pm, slot next week. It is presented by Havoc's former offsider, Jeremy Wells. Eating Media Lunch II, which will run for eight weeks, received $349,557 from NZ On Air.
