Associate Maori Affairs Minister and former protest leader Tariana Turia hopes Government intervention will avert a planned re-occupation of Moutoa Gardens in Wanganui.
The local iwi has announced plans to move back into the gardens because it says the Crown is not negotiating in good faith over the ownership of Whanganui River.
Mrs Turia has been working with State Owned Enterprises Minister Mark Burton, Maori Affairs Minister Parekura Horomia and Treaty Negotiations Minister Margaret Wilson on the matter.
