TVNZ presenter April Bruce is expecting her first baby.
The 34-year-old is thrilled about the pregnancy, a network source said.
She married bar owner Andrew Bruce four months ago in Rarotonga and dropped her well-known surname, Ieremia, in favour of his.
Bruce, a former New Zealand netball player, has been working in broadcasting
for 10 years.
As well as her work on One News she has co-hosted cover of two Olympic Games and two Commonwealth Games.
She fronted the recent Commonwealth Games from a studio in Auckland rather than travelling to Manchester with the TVNZ reporters and commentary team.
Bruce also co-hosts the breakfast show on i98FM with Mark Leishman but it is understood she wants to reduce her workload and does not plan a return to radio next year.
She recently described her hectic lifestyle in a magazine interview but said it would not last forever.
Bruce told the Woman's Weekly, in one of a series of exclusive interviews, that she and her husband tried to see each other a few times during the day.
"It would be different if I did just breakfast or just evenings but to do both something has to give and it won't be our relationship, so therefore it's our social life."
