A post office near Auckland International Airport has been evacuated following a reported bomb threat.
Fire services were called to the mail centre on Tom Pearce Drive - just over 1km away from the international terminal in South Auckland.
A northern fire communications spokesman confirmed just before 8.30am that they had received a report of a bomb threat and that staff have responded.
NZ Post confirmed staff had been evacuated from the building because of a suspicious package.
"The international mail centre has been evacuated due to a suspicious item."
Just after 9am, police said several inquiries were made to determine whether or not the package posed any danger.
"[Police] have since established it poses no danger," a statement said.
Cordons are due to be lifted shortly.
