A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a car on Ponsonby Rd.
Emergency services were called to the serious crash at 7.15pm near the intersection of the Ponsonby Rd and Hopetoun St, police said.
The Serious Crash Unit has been called. The road is closed and diversions are in place.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
