One person dead after crash involving car and cyclist on SH2 north of Wellington

One person has died after a serious crash on State Highway 2 north of Wellington.

The crash just after 6pm on Monday night involved a car and cyclist near Horokiwi, and caused large disruptions to evening commuters.

Early reports suggested one person was seriously injured, but Police have this morning confirmed a person has died.

Investigations continue.
