At least two people have been injured in serious crashes on rural North Island roads.
Fire crews near Poukawa south of Hastings are battling to free the driver of a car that rolled into a paddock off Middle Rd just after 4pm.
A Fire and Emergency spokesman said firefighters were extricating the injured driver of the upside down vehicle.
Meanwhile, firefighters were working to free another injured driver trapped in a milk tanker that rolled on a rural Taranaki road shortly after 1pm.
The spokesman said emergency services received a report the truck had rolled on Beaconsfield Rd near Stratford about 1.12pm.
Fire crews were on the scene and working to extricate the trapped driver, he said.
A police spokeswoman said the driver had serious injuries.
The crash was not blocking the road, she said.
