Arrest made after attack that left a man critically injured in Christchurch

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in relation to an assault in Christchurch that left a man fighting for his life.

The victim, 33, was critically injured during the attack on Hereford St at 4.40pm yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said it appeared the accused had been charged with injuring with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man was due to appear in court today.
