One person dead following crash involving truck and motorcycle in Northland

State Highway 1 was closed after the crash and is expected to remain so for some time.

One person has died in Northland following a crash on State Highway 1 between a motorbike and a truck.

Police confirmed the incident took place near Kawakawa around 5.15pm and the highway was closed following the crash.

Diversions are currently in place and people are asked to avoid the area.

The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
