Amazingly no one was injured as a branch from a large tree snapped and landed on a parked car in Auckland's busy Queen St.
The tree fell outside 369 Queen St, a usually bustling pedestrian area directly across the road from the Auckland Town Hall.
The vehicle sustained a broken windscreen which could be seen once the heavy wood and foliage was cleared away.
Witness Apal Gupta said: "I just saw the tree lying there. The rescue people were trying to take the tree off. It was a red VW Beetle," he said.
"The workers were having to cut the branches before they could remove them without damaging the car any further.
