Several crashes on Auckland's citybound roads this morning are creating major headaches for commuters.
A multi-vehicle crash about 6.20am blocked two of the three citybound lanes on the Southern Motorway near the Takanini exit.
The NZ Transport Agency said the lanes had since been cleared but traffic was backing up between Drury and Takanini, and heavy delays were expected.
Meanwhile another crash at 7am on the Northwestern Motorway is blocking the middle right citybound lane just before Great North Rd.
NZTA said traffic was backing up to Rosebank Rd.
And on the Northern Motorway another multi-vehicle crash is blocking the right citybound lane after Greville Rd.
NZTA said the crash had since been cleared into the bus lanes.
A crash between a car and a bus earlier this morning about 5.40am is blocking the right lane on Sturdee St, approaching Customs St West.
A Fire and Emergency spokesman said earlier reports wrongly said a person was trapped.
