Person dead after crash in Northland

One person has died and two are injured after their car rolled on State Highway 12 in Omanaia in the Far North.

Police were called to the crash at around 8.10am this morning.

Police have confirmed the deceased was a passenger.

The driver and a second passenger are being treated for minor injuries at Rawene Hospital.

The car rolled between Duddy Rd and Ayrton Rd and two people were initially reported to be trapped.

The vehicle was off the road and there were no road blockages.

The serious crash unit is at the scene.
