Police in Christchurch are appealing for witnesses to a group attack outside a local Burger King outlet today to come forward.

Officers were called to the scene on Main North Rd, Belfast, following reports of a disorder at the Burger King carpark just after 5pm.

"Inquiries indicate that one person has been assaulted by a group,'' police said.

It is not yet known how severe the person's injuries are.


Seven people are now helping police with their inquiries.

However, authorities appealed to anyone who saw the incident to contact them immediately.

"A large number of people witnessed the assault and police would like to hear from them.''
