Auckland police want to speak to a woman with short pink hair after her vehicle struck a teenager in the city.
Senior Constable Andrew Tangney said although the woman, who was driving a blue Toyota Rav 4 SUV, stopped after the crash, she left the scene without leaving any details.
The 14-year-old was hit while crossing Heaphy St, Blockhouse Bay, about 4pm on Wednesday, October 25.
He received moderate injuries and was taken to hospital.
"At the time the driver of the vehicle that struck him, got out and spoke to the victim but left the scene without leaving any details.
"Police would like to speak with this person," Tangney said.
The female driver is described as being middle aged, of European descent and of solid build with short pink hair.
The Rav had a spare tyre on the back with a black cover and a silver fern logo with the word New Zealand written underneath.
"Police are conducting area inquiries which includes reviewing CCTV footage but would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or knows who the driver is.
