Thieves have robbed an Auckland McDonald's and assaulted a staff member.
A police spokeswoman said they received a report of a robbery at the Wairau McDonald's at about 5.30am on Monday a week ago.
"Five male offenders reportedly entered through a side door and took money."
A staff member was assaulted, she said, but no medical attention was required. Police understand they were "pushed" by one of the thieves.
The offenders fled in a stolen vehicle, and police are following lines of inquiry.
McDonald's New Zealand spokeswoman Sarah Fitzpatrick said they were aware of the incident and were assisting police with their investigation.
