Two teenagers have been arrested after a stolen car ended up in Wellington Harbour.
Police were called to Lowry Bay around 3.30am following reports a car had crashed on to the rocks off Point Howard.
Two men were seen running away from the car.
They were tracked by police dogs and arrested.
A police spokesman says a tow truck was arranged to remove the car, but it is not clear if it is still in the water.
A 16-year-old is due in the Hutt Valley Youth Court today, charged with the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, careless operation of a motor vehicle, and unlawful interference of a motor vehicle.
A 15-year-old has been referred to Youth Aid.
