A woman who brandished a pistol inside a Dunedin dairy this week hot-footed it from the shop within seconds of entering.
Police were called to the On The Spot Halfway Bush Convenience Store about 7.30am on Monday.
Footage has emerged showing a woman entering the store and brandishing a weapon, which the storekeeper described as "looking like a pistol", then bolting almost immediately.
Meanwhile, the owner fled into the adjoining flat, locked the door and called for his family to phone the police.
The offender was described as a 20-30-year-old female with an olive complexion, solid build, and about 155cm tall. She was wearing a red scarf covering part of her face, tracksuit pants and black and white gym shoes.
