Police are responding to a violent robbery at a fish and chip shop in New Plymouth.
The shop is believed to be Stocky's Takeaways on Omata Rd in Marfell.
A police spokeswoman said the incident, which was called in at 9.40pm, was being treated as an aggravated robbery.
Two people
were working in the shop when a man came in and assaulted them. No weapons were used, she said.
The pair were initially treated at the scene for facial injuries, with one person then taken to New Plymouth Hospital, she said.
