Power has been restored to more than 1000 homes in central Auckland this morning but a further 200 homes are still waiting to be reconnected.
Power went out at 1211 homes in the Auckland suburbs of Greenlane and Epsom this morning after a cable issue tripped key feeder lines in
the network.
A Vector spokesman said all bar 185 of the properties had electricity reconnected by 7.30am.
Those left in the dark could expect to have power back by 9am, he said.
The outage happened at 4.18am and affected up to five feeders that created the suburb-wide blackout.
