The trial of two women accused of attempting to murder a 19-year-old in Dome Valley north of Auckland is drawing to a close with the judge set to summarise the case for the jury.
Nicola Jones and Julie-Ann Torrance are standing trial in the High Court at Auckland accused of taking the young woman to a remote road, together with Wayne Blackett, where she was hit with a hammer and left for dead.
The pair's lawyers closed their defences against the charges on Thursday, with Justice Christian Whata set to deliver his summary once the final defence lawyer Greame Newell closes on behalf of Cameron Hakeke.
Hakeke is accused of assaulting the young woman during a separate attack.
