A man has been flown to hospital after a truck and an SUV collided north of Wairoa this morning.
A police spokesman said the vehicles were travelling on Tiniroto Rd around 6.17am when the crash happened.
The driver of the SUV was flown by rescue helicopter to Gisborne Hospital.
The
truck driver was understood to be uninjured.
The Serious Crash Unit and the police Commercial Investigation Unit will investigate.
