A light aircraft with three people on board has landed safely after an emergency was declared at Ardmore Airport in South Auckland.
The light aircraft reported it was experiencing problems with landing gear this morning.
Police and fire crews headed to the airport before the plane tried to land.
Fire Service northern shift manager Megan Ruru said the plane was now safely back on the ground.
A police spokesman said the pilot had alerted authorities the light twin aircraft was experiencing difficulties.
Three people were on board.
Ruru said the aircraft circled the airfield while fire crews positioned themselves near the runway preparing for the plane to land.
