Light airplane lands safely after emergency at Ardmore Airport

A light aircraft with three people on board has landed safely after an emergency was declared at Ardmore Airport in South Auckland.
The light aircraft reported it was experiencing problems with landing gear this morning.
Police and fire crews headed to the airport before the plane tried to land.

Service northern shift manager Megan Ruru said the plane was now safely back on the ground.
A police spokesman said the pilot had alerted authorities the light twin aircraft was experiencing difficulties.
