Three people robbed a Christchurch dairy with a hammer and a machete early this morning.
Police said the trio entered the Night 'n Day on Ferry Road in Woolston around 5am armed with weapons.
They brandished the hammer and machete at a staff member before taking off with cigarettes and
cash.
Police are working with the staff member involved who is understandably shaken, but uninjured.
Police are making inquiries into the incident and working to locate the offenders.
