The 6-year-old girl who confronted an attacker at her father's Auckland electronic shop has made headlines overseas.

Sarah Patel was at Expert Infotech in Glenfield, on the North Shore, on Monday afternoon when five masked men stormed inside.

CCTV footage provided to the Herald yesterday shows the moment the youngster comes face-to-face with one of the offenders, who is captured standing over shop employee Jordan Byrt, 19.

UK newspaper the Daily Express ran a story calling Sarah's actions heroic.

"Sarah Patel's astonishing bravery was caught on CCTV as she made her own attempts to confront armed robbers targeting her father Suhail Patel's electronic shop," the publication said.

"Taken aback, the man, who was standing over one of her father's employees, pauses."

Several media outlets in Australia have also run the incredible footage.

The Daily Mail Australia ran an article with a headline calling Sarah "fearless".

Five 16-year-old males appeared in the North Shore District Court yesterday charged with aggravated robbery, injuring with intent and breaching bail.

Police are still hunting for a sixth person.
