More heavy, possibly thundery rain could hit Auckland tomorrow and Wednesday, according to MetService.
In a severe weather watch, MetService warns of localised heavy rain for Auckland as well as Northland, Great Barrier Island and the Coromandel Peninsula.
A front is expected to become slow-moving over Northland tomorrow, then drift southwards on Wednesday.
Periods of localised heavy and possibly thundery rain could hit eastern Northland tomorrow, reaching Great Barrier and northern Auckland from tomorrow evening through to Wednesday.
In some places, rain accumulations may approach MetService's short duration warning criteria of more than 50mm in 6 hours.
