Smoke alarms saved a family after their Canterbury home was extensively damaged by fire last night.
A Fire Service spokesman said the two-storey Sidey Quay house caught fire at around 11.30pm.
The family's escape came less than 24 hours after Cheviot man Raymond Burnett died in a house fire.
Last
night's blaze was not believed to be suspicious.
