Police have made another appeal for information about a savage street attack in Lower Hutt as a 21-year-old man lies in hospital, unlikely to survive.
After attending a 21st birthday party in Cleland Cres, Naenae, the victim was chased by a group and then assaulted in the early hours of Sunday.
He was found uncouncious about 3.30am, near Seddon St, and was rushed to Wellington Hospital with severe head injuries.
Today, the man remains there with life-threatening injuries and police have said he is unlikely to survive. Meanwhile, officers are probing what happened to him.
Police believe about 30 people were at the 21st and are appealing for witnesses to the attack or those that attended the party to come forward.
Yesterday, Talosage Terry David Moreli, 27, appeared in the Hutt Valley District Court, charged with assaulting the man and a seperate charge of assaulting another man.
He will remain in custody until his next appearance next month.
