Police have arrested a teenage girl in relation to the violent robbery of a 77-year-old man on Monday.

The incident occurred in the man's Hastings home after offender broke in, assaulted him and stole his car.

He ended up in hospital with serious injuries.

The 17-year-old handed herself in to police yesterday and has been charged with aggravated robbery and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.


She will be appearing in Hastings District Court tomorrow.

Police are still making enquiries to locate other offenders involved in the attack.
